TVG and Zenit promote 'Castelao', a film about the author and politician

TVG (Galicia Television) continues to support projects about unique characters and references in the recent history of Galicia with 'Castelao', a film produced by Zenit TV in which he participates.

castellao is one of the nine film projects in which he participates Galicia Television within the support actions of public media for the Galician audiovisual sector announced this September. The film, which will be shot in the same places that Daniel Castelao inhabited (Pontevedra, Santiago, Rianxo and Brittany), addresses apparently minor moments, but which in reality bring together all the roles of Castelao: the doctor, the humanist, the politician, the journalist or the caricaturist.

This project seeks to get closer to the person rather than the individual and will focus on two specific moments in his life: when he joined Galician militancy by participating in the Assemblea das Irmandades da Fala in 1918, and when, with the advent of the Republic, he dedicated all his efforts to political life.

The film, directed by Angeles Huertas, who won twelve awards at the Mestre Mateo Awards with his debut film The open body, will star Tamar Novas and counts as responsible for the script Pepe Chur, winner of awards such as the Ondas for the best Spanish series, the Iris, Mestre Mateo, Alma, Forqué and Serie MiM awards, among others.

The executive production of castellao is in charge of Zaza Ceballos and has had the advice of the president of the Castelao Foundation, Miguel Angel Seixas, in its development phase.
