The film about Los Planetas 'Second prize', Golden Biznaga at the 27th Malaga Festival

He 27th Malaga Festival has celebrated its closing gala by recognizing the musical film about Los Planetas 'Second Prize', signed by Isaki Lacuesta and Pol Rodríguez, with the Biznaga de Oro for Best Film and the Biznagas de Plata for best direction and best editing.

The director of the San Sebastián Festival and member of the jury, José Luis Rebordinos, ha sido el encargado de entregar el galardón a los directores catalanes, que han querido agradecer el premio al Festival: “Queremos dar las gracias al jurado y al Festival, pero, sobre todo, a las personas que más nos han inspirado. Y no, no son cineastas, son los hacedores de canciones como Kiko Veneno o Los planetas”, han destacado los premiados.

Por otro lado, el director Christopher Zalla ha subido al escenario para recoger la Biznaga de Oro a mejor película iberoamericana por Radical, a Mexican production based on a 2013 Wired article: “A radical way to unleash a generation of geniuses.” The film's producer, Fernando Riera, collected the award, and wanted to thank the Festival and the jury for "selecting such an important film that deals with the education of boys and girls in a country like Mexico, in which the difficulties are enormous."

Other notable awards of the evening included the jury's special award for The little loves by Celia Rico; Better Script for Alex Montoya and Joana M. Ortueta by the house; Best Music for Fernando Velázquez for the house, y Better photograph to Juan Carlos Martínez for Golan. The jury of the criticism, for its part, has awarded its Silver Biznaga to Nina by Andrea Jaurrieta, while the prize of public has ended up in the house by Alex Montoya.
