Andoni Aldekoa (EITB) joins the executive committee of CIRCOM Regional

The executive committee of CIRCOM Regional, the collaborative network of regional public media organizations in Europe, has decided to appoint Andoni Aldekoa, Director General of EITB, as a new member of its executive board.

At this meeting, the members of the Executive Committee have evaluated the professional background of The supporter, his experience and his vision for the future of public media. The delegates have unanimously supported the CEO candidacy of EITB, which has been presented with the endorsement of the Italian chain RAI and the finnish YLE, thus recognizing the significant contributions they believe their figure can make to the association. EITB was, on the other hand, the host of the 39th CIRCOM congress, which took place on June 1 and 2, 2023 in San Sebastián.

Among the arguments of these important public media is the “extensive knowledge of the audiovisual sector” or the “renewing perspective to the committee" that Aldekoa will contribute. Likewise, its management at EITB, led by innovative strategies and a commitment to the progress of public media in an ever-evolving environment.

Other points discussed at the last Regional CIRCOM meeting, in which the appointment of Aldekoa was decided, were a debate on the situation of the member countries representing the different communication groups, or an analysis of a financial report carried out by several auditors.
