Mediapro begins filming the third and final season of 'The Head'

'The Head', fiction produced by The Mediapro Studio in association with Hulu Japan, will conclude with a third and final season that is already being filmed in the province of Almería.

Like previous installments, The Head it rolls in English and has been created by Ran Tellem, director of international content at The Mediapro Studio, who also repeats as executive producer, along with Laura Fernández Espeso, Javier Méndez and Bernat Elías. Jorge Dorado, who is once again at the head of the management of the six episodes with which the trilogy ends, will bring to life a script created by a team of international scriptwriters that includes the Spanish-British couple Teresa de Pelegrí and Dominic Harari (Loved Ones, Love at its best), the British Rachel Kilfeather (Vikings T3: Valhalla) the North American Martine Moore (Bwitches) and the british Pearse Lehane (Doctor Who Confidential).

The main characteristic of The Head has been to confine its protagonists in environments hostile, isolated and remote where there is no possible escape. In the first season it was an international station in Antarctica; in the second, a ship at Point Nemo, the furthest place from land in the middle of the Pacific. The setting of this third season is located in the Sahara desert, in an area known as Bir Tawil, located on the border between Egypt and Sudan, which remains the only territory on the planet considered a 'no man's land'. Filming, which has begun in the province of Almeria, will last for several weeks in different locations of Madrid, Tenerife and Segovia.

John Lynch (The Terror, The Hunt), Katharine O’Donnelly (Mary, Queen of Scots), ambos en la serie desde sus inicios, y OIivia Morris (Hotel Portofino), incorporada desde la temporada 2, vuelven a ser los protagonistas principales de la serie. Repiten también Ben Cura (La Reina Carlota: Una historia de los Bridgerton) y Olwen Fouéré (El hombre del norte, The Crown), que ya estuvieron también en la segunda entrega. Entre las novedades del reparto destacan la actriz española Clara Galle (A través de mi ventana, El Internado Las Cumbres), además de Stanley Weber (Borgia, Outlander), Ned Dennehy (Peaky Blinder, Outlander), Godehard Giese (Babylon Berlín), Sara-Marie Maltha (The Killing), John Kavanagh (Los Tudor, La Dalia Negra) y Atsuro Watabe (Las Flores de la Guerra, Ran), among others.

This is the synopsis de la tercera temporada de The Head, que ya ha llegado a 90 países “con excelentes resultados” y que volverá a ser distribuida por The Mediapro Studio Distribution: “Decidida a seguir adelante con la investigación de su padre, Rachel (Olivia Morris) cree haber dado con la toxina que contaminaba las algas. Una vez modificadas éstas genéticamente, y tras testarlas en animales, es el momento de probar con humanos. Para ello ha seleccionado a cinco voluntarios de distinta condición dispuestos a ejercer de cobayas a cambio de una sustanciosa cantidad de dinero. Todo parece ir bien hasta que una nueva muerte y la desaparición de nuevo de una cabeza conviertan una vez más el remoto escenario en una pesadilla”.
