Castilla-La Mancha Media (CMM) is committed to renewable energy with 728 solar panels

The facilities of Middle Castile-La Mancha in Toledo they have been renovated during the last months of 2023 with 728 solar panels that could contribute up to 70% of the total electrical consumption of radio and television.

Middle Castile-La Mancha (CMM) has sought to improve the energy efficiency of its headquarters in Toledo by installing a photovoltaic park which occupies a total area of 2,256 square meters. Solar panels, a total of 728 plates, have been arranged taking advantage of the metal structure of the parking canopies, so that it has not been necessary to enable any additional space to those already present in the La Mancha media entity.

Each of the 728 plates has a power of 660Wp (peak watts), which will allow a peak power of almost 0.5 megawatts. Taking into account that the maximum production of the panels coincides with the greatest activity in the public environment during the day, on sunny days this installation could offer up to 70% of total electrical consumption. On average, Middle Castile-La Mancha has estimated that the installation of this green energy source will mean a savings of 12% of the annual bill of your electrical supply.

With this installation, Castilian-La Mancha radio and television meets the established criteria by the European Parliament regarding the energy efficiency of buildings. The reduction in electricity costs and dependence on the public grid, as well as protection against volatility in fuel prices, make the investment made "profitable", always according to CMM itself.
