The reality show 'Musician Mansion' comes to YouTube after being post-produced with DaVinci Resolve
Content creators Jared Dines and Angel Vivaldi decided to use DaVinci Resolve software from Blackmagic Design to post-produce 'Musician Mansion', a musical reality show broadcast on YouTube.
Musician Mansion, format that is broadcast on the channel YouTube of Dines (with nearly three million subscribers), brings together 15 musicians in a house in which they will face different challenges and musical content. Vivaldi provides more details about the development of this contest shot with cameras Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro: “The show takes place in a stunning mansion called “Greystone Castle.” We bring together 15 of the most renowned music content creators, group them into three bands, and have them participate in all kinds of fun and exciting challenges, such as writing a hit song, filming a music video, and other unexpected physical challenges.”
The post-production of this format was in charge of Kevin Brady (Pacific Nomad), who used DaVinci Resolve Studio for editing, grading and audio post-production tasks, plus a keyboard DaVinci Resolve Editor Keyboard. Brady, who confirms that he used the software to run post-production on Musician Mansion from “start to finish,” benefited from tools like “voice isolation” to clean the audio since they decided to use built-in microphones instead of having sound personnel on set during filming: “We had a complex task that required a lot of work to improve the sound, and that add-on, as well as other tools, made a big difference.”
Initially, Brady went to ride him format with other software, but after “struggling for two hours to reproduce the images” he found benefits in the integrated workflow of Blackmagic: "The interface is extremely intuitive, and I was very surprised by the efficiency of the program itself: there is no flickering, the playback is excellent even without rendering the images, and it did not close unexpectedly at any time. It's something I wasn't used to, so it was a revelation. DaVinci allowed me to do my job without having to wait for the program to do its thing. It works without problems."
The podcast of Musician Mansion
Once the post-production of the chapters of Musician Mansion, Vivaldi began working on his podcast: “Although the program focuses on different guests, the podcast Musician Mansion It mainly revolves around the various tasks that each participant performs to develop the content and music that have earned them recognition.”
This format was filmed with cameras Pocket 6K Pro of Blackmagic in the games room at Greystone Castle, an environment not without its challenges: "The room is the most unusual shape I have ever seen, as it is packed with video game machines and game tables, some of which are impossible to move. The area is astonishingly restrictive, but we persisted and got everything right, thanks to the compact size of the Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro model. The image quality is absolutely amazing, and the user interface is the simplest and most accessible I have seen on a camera, particularly the of this ilk.”
Beyond the flexibility and accessibility of the cameras, Vivaldi highlights the “cinematic level” offered by this Blackmagic solution. In their own words: “The picture and sound quality reflects all the work and dedication you put into your podcast, while making the message you want to convey have a deeper effect.”
