The Spanish AXESS (Hispasat), finalist for the WTA Teleport Awards 2024

La World Teleport Association (WTA), association made up of teleport operators from around the world, has included the Spanish satellite company AXESS Networks Solutions (acquired by Hispasat in 2022) among the finalists in the “Independent Teleport Operator of the Year” category of the Teleport Awards 2024.

AXESS Networks will compete for recognition with US Electrodynamics (USEI), Teleports (USA) and with Emirates Integrated Telecommunications (UAE). The winner will not be known until the 29th annual Teleport Awards for Excellence luncheon, hosted by Network Innovations Advanced Networks and neXat, and scheduled for March 19 at the Satellite conference in Washington, DC.

In this event you will also know the “teleport technology of the year", for which QuadSAT's QuadSAT system, neXat's neXat virtualized OSS/BSS platform, and Atheras Analytics' Smart Gateway Diversity (SGD) design tool are nominated. Attendees at the Teleport Excellence Awards luncheon will include teleport, satellite, and content delivery technology industry executives, as well as past award winners from around the world.

The WTA has selected the finalists for both categories based on applications submitted to the association by members and non-members, although the winners will be selected by vote of WTA members. For Robert Bell, executive director of the association, “the 2024 finalists are all great examples and we eagerly await the votes of our jury,” which will take as criteria “resilience in business models, the ability to see the opportunity for innovation and find a way to take advantage of it, and an unwavering devotion to quality.”
