Matrox Video is emerging at NAB 2024 as a bridge to IT and IP environments
The solutions that Matrox Video presented at NAB 2024 in Las Vegas enhance remote production (REMI), contribution, distribution, operations and control, as well as world-class live production.
Today, it is demonstrating how Matrox Video products are helping broadcasters, live event producers, developers and manufacturers implement and improve their IP- and IT-based multimedia workflows.
These include solutions for remote production (REMI), contribution, distribution, operations and control, and Tier 1 live production in the cloud, along with the latest innovations for SMPTE ST 2110 and IPMX.
Francesco Scartozzi, vice president of sales and business development for broadcast and media at Matrox Video, highlights that "with more than 45 years serving as a leading supplier to the biggest brands in the most demanding applications, Matrox Video has led the industry's transitions from analog video to SDI and ST 2110/IPMX and is uniquely positioned to deliver the IP- and IT-based workflows that drive production today. Our product line for NAB addresses that shift, and we will demonstrate practical applications of media over IP that will help attendees accelerate their workflows and improve their operations.”
Matrox DSX SDK 10.5
Among the new features, the latest updates to the SDK the Matrox DSX for DSX and X.mio NIC and I/O cards that allow ultra-low input-to-output latency, with a delay of 1 frame for interlaced video and 2 frames for progressive video.
The new “large canvas” feature enabled on the
DSX SDK 10.5 too supports ST 2110-22 with JPEG-XS encoding and decoding and adds Native AWS S3 support with Flex Reader and Writer for cloud-based applications.
Also new is the new ST 2110 100GbE network card It is designed for high-performance multimedia environments, including broadcast and virtual production. With dual 28 QSFP connectors, this PCIe Gen 4 x 8 card offers up to eight UHD@P60 input and output channels or two 8KP60 channels, all with ST 2022-7 redundancy.
The card features hardware-based PTP to provide ST 2059-2 nanosecond precision and offloads all ST 2110 packet processing to the CPU, which is essential for high-density, high-resolution applications. This card also offers ultra-low latency to minimize input-to-output latency in 4K and 8K multichannel applications.
Matrox Monarch EDGE
Encoders and decoders Matrox Monarch EDGE are known in the market for their advanced features, including ultra-low latency multi-stream sync, 4K/multi-HD support, tally, talkback and genlock.
The next version 2.07 introduces new features that make Monarch EDGE a versatile solution for backhaul, contribution, video transport and distribution workflows. With HDR and Dolby audio support, VANC metadata for subtitles, SCTE-104 for ad insertion and SRT Stream IDs To facilitate stream routing, Monarch EDGE stands out as one of the most flexible encoder/decoders.
Sector distribution platforms such as GlobalM and TechEx endorse Monarch EDGE as the preferred encoder for high-quality stream delivery. A GlobalM module at the Matrox Video booth will showcase cloud-based distribution workflows with Monarch EDGE.
Matrox ConvertIP bridges traditional baseband and IP-based video workflows by converting HDMI or SDI signals to and from ST 2110 and IPMX. Demonstrations by Matrox Video experts will highlight ConvertIP's unique daisy-chaining capabilities, which reduce total cost of ownership and increase monitoring flexibility and redundancy. ConvertIP enables camera-to-IP production and integrates seamlessly with RED and Panasonic and other ST 2110 workflows.
As to Matrox ORIGIN offers broadcasters and live content providers, developers and solution providers a scalable, flexible, cloud-based and COTS live production solution in an OPEX model. Built on a cloud native IT architectureMatrox ORIGIN redefines live production with an open OPEX-based framework, free from traditional clock-based video compromises, enabling a workflow comprised of best-in-class applications.
Los Extio 3 IP KVM extenders and the switch KMLync KM enable innovative workflows and flexible KVM over IP matrix system design, boosting productivity and improving operator workspaces for media production. Extio 3 IP KVM Extenders provide glitch-free, low-bit-rate 4Kp60 4:4:4 and 1080p60 4:4:4 video upscaling and switching over LAN, WAN or 1GbE Internet, and feature advanced multi-view capabilities, multi-system control with seamless mouse switching, and enhanced security with encryption, as well as user and device authentication features.
