Jorge Villa Romero replaces Francisco Temprano as director of Own Production of RTVCyL

The Board of Directors of RTVCyL has appointed Jorge Villa Romero as the new director of Own Production of Radio Television of Castilla y León.

Villa takes over from Francisco Temprano, who has headed the area since the creation of regional television in 2009 and who is now beginning his retirement after more than four decades in the world of communication.

Jorge Villa Romero (Tarragona, 1973) is a journalist by training (B.A. in Journalism and Social Communication, University of Wales, graduated from the Higher School of Journalism and Social Communication of Valladolid and graduated in Direction and Scriptwriting from the School of Film and Visual Arts of the University of León). Master in Communication Research as a Historical and Social Agent and Doctor in Communication from the University of Valladolid, where he is also a teacher of the Degree in Journalism and Audiovisual Communication.

The field of television audiovisual entertainment stands out in Villa Romero's extensive professional career. In this sense, he has been a scriptwriter and has held directing and deputy directing functions for productions and programs for different national channels such as TVE, Antena 3, Cuatro, Telecinco, Neox or Divinity; as well as platforms like Netflix. Likewise, Jorge Villa's television work covers various productions for regional channels such as Television of the Principality of Asturias, Radio Television Canaria or Television of the Balearic Islands. During the 2012/2013 season, Villa was in charge of the direction and content of the daily RTVCyL magazine. The afternoon with Cristina and the weekly program We are from the village.

También ha desarrollado su trayectoria profesional en medios como Europa Sur (Algeciras) o El Día de Valladolid, y ha realizado colaboraciones para Diario de León y Heraldo de Aragón, entre otros.

Jorge Villa sustituye en el cargo a Francisco Temprano, que iniciará su jubilación en julio. El Consejo de Administración de RTVCyL quiere agradecer la profesionalidad y dedicación de Francisco Temprano desde el inicio del proyecto RTVCyL. También quiere destacar la encomiable labor que ha realizado a lo largo de todos estos años y enfatizar su compromiso por mostrar y acercar la Comunidad a sus ciudadanos a través de los mejores programas y producciones. Radio Televisión de Castilla y León se honra de haber contado con este gran profesional del periodismo y la comunicación, cuya amplia trayectoria ha estado ligada principalmente al ámbito audiovisual, ocupando cargos directivos en distintos medios de radio y televisión.

Francisco Temprano es licenciado en Periodismo por la Universidad Complutense. Antes de emprender su labor como Director de Producción Propia de RTVCYL, fue subdirector general de Onda Cero, director de Explotación de Televisión Castilla y León y cofundador y director de Programas de Punto Radio. También desarrolló su carrera en la COPE como director de Programas de la cadena, director autonómico en Castilla y León y en la Comunidad Valenciana.
