Esports World Cup

Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) and the Esports World Cup Foundation have agreed on a global partnership that will enable extensive coverage of the innovative multi-genre esports competition on some of the leading platforms and channels in Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

Leveraging the breadth of Warner Bros. Discovery's global network, the partnership will draw on the company's expertise across its brands. Eurosport y CNN to help the Esports World Cup reach new audiences around the world through a multi-platform approach that will include a series of innovations to help elevate the coverage of esports for the general public.

The Esports World Cup is a competition that features a unique cross-play structure that will pit the best esports teams and athletes in the world against each other for the largest prize pool in history. In the summer of 2024, players, publishers and fans from around the world will gather in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to crown the first Esports Club World Cup champion.

The Esports World Cup, which will begin on July 3, will bring together the best clubs in the world for eight weeks in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) competing in 22 events with the 21 best games in the world, in a global esports spectacle that will end up finding and crowning the first Club World Cup champion. Qualifying clubs will compete for more than $60 million in prize money.

Max and discovery+ will also offer viewers live streaming of select sessions of the Esports World Cup.
