Lawo's decisive commitment to the IP world will continue at IBC 2024
Theirs continues his journey in the world of IP in IBC 2024, an event in which important new features will be released and a future marked by the adaptability and versatility of this type of environments will be previewed.
IBC 2024 (September 13-16) will mark the official launch of the app Home mc² DSP, a solution announced in NAB 2024 which is already being used in global sporting events and will be available to the general public in the fourth quarter of 2024. This server-based audio engine combines the flexibility of the platform Home Apps in terms of connectivity and scalability with Lawo's audio processing technology and ultra-low latency.
Like all apps Home, the mc² DSP application is based on cloud native technology that uses microservices and containers. Can be used in conjunction with mc² mixing consoles or as a mixing system headless to provide server-based audio processing in situations where A__UHD Core is not available or where staying within the scope of Home applications is more practical.
VSC arrives, virtual audio for Apple
Lawo will also premiere within the framework of IBC 2024 Their VSC. This virtual audio device designed specifically for macOS 14 and later on Apple desktops and laptops sends and receives local computer audio sources like flows Ravenna/AES67 through a network.
Designed for “modern” broadcast contexts, Theirs VSC provides, in its full version, up to 128 audio devices per instance and even 128 two-way audio channels uncompressed per virtual audio device in multicast or unicast mode, with sample rates up to 96kHz and compatibility with open standards Audio-over-IP. The free version of Lawo VSC, which will be available alongside the standard option on August 2024, supports a virtual audio device with up to 2 sending and receiving channels on a single network interface.
The new Crystal console, at IBC 2024
In a European first, Theirs will present its new console at IBC 2024 crystal, a native IP broadcast mixing system that is based on open networking standards RAVENNA/AES67 Audio-over-IP and standards compliant SMPTE ST2110-30/-31 for audio and ST2022-7 for redundancy. Powered by the Power Core engine, Crystal supports expandable I/O, accommodating AES67, MADI, analog, AES3 as well as Dante audio sources and destinations. The system will demonstrate its two different modes of operation at the Amsterdam RAI: Power Core y Controller. While the first option allows the console to serve as a standard control system, the second mode allows it to serve as an expansion interface for mc² audio production consoles.
Lawo will also take advantage IBC 2024 to present your new OnAir Radio virtual interface, which has Power Core support and compatibility with consoles Diamond y Crystal.
