Vizrt redoubles its commitment to the world of sports with the signing of Sam Leadsom
Sam Leadsom becomes part of the team Vizrt with the position of commercial director of global sports.
Let's go has extensive experience in sports production with IMG Media, Fox Sports y Sail GP, from where he has been responsible for large sports productions in many parts of the world such as Premier League, Sail GP, Bundesliga, US Masters y Moto GP. He also spent several years in Asia, where he focused on channel rebranding and producing a wide range of award-winning, sustainable content. While in Asia, Sam was also responsible for overseeing the production of FOX Sports on multiple platforms in the region and was a member of the senior team that led the rebranding of 2014 of the four sports channels.
Prior to his time in Asia, Sam spent over two decades working in the UK in various sports with IMG Media as executive producer, head of Premier League productions. Sam started the TV channel 24/7 Premier League and supervised the day to day of all editorial production. Additionally, Sam has worked with Sky, BBC, ITV, European Tour, UEFA y HBS as a producer and director of athletics, tennis, football, cricket, snooker and darts.
Now, Leadsom joins Vizrt at a very important moment for the company, which considers that 2022 will be a key year for the development of its sports division. “I am delighted to join Vizrt at this exciting time for our industry and look forward to helping the Vizrt Group strengthen its position as a market leader in broadcast technology and continue to support the aspirations of our customers and partners to deliver highly creative sports content,” commented the new commercial director in his first statements as part of the Nordic company.
2022, the year of sports
Vizrt will focus much of its 2022 on sports, a year widely marked by sports competitions such as the current ones Beijing Winter Olympics or the Qatar Soccer World Cup of the end of the year. The company hopes to “expand and improve” its sports solutions throughout the year. To this end, it will present a “solid product roadmap” and an “exit strategy to the market” in the near future.
