Telos Alliance - Zaphyr Connect

Zephyr Connect, a software-based multicodec gateway for transporting multiple channels of stereo, mono and dual-mono audio over IP networks, joins the extensive portfolio of Telos Alliance.

Building on the legacy of the Telos iPort series of hardware products, Zephyr Connect It is delivered as a software container that can be deployed on-premises on a COTS (commercial off-the-shelf) server or hosted in the cloud. The solution has been designed to send multiple linear or MPEG channels via VPNs, satellite links, Ethernet radio systems and telecom and ISP services such as SD-WAN, MPLS or legacy data links.

Zephy Connect can also be used as a network distribution, multichannel link to remote studios or studio-transmitter link. When paired with an appropriate audio streaming server, Zephyr Connect can pass audio, ancillary data and GPIO with a QoS-enabled IP link between studios on a Livewire network using Telos Alliance xNodes.

Robbie Green, product manager at Telos Alliance, highlights the main advantages of its latest development, now available: "Zephyr Connect offers the same functionality and features as our Telos iPort High Density hardware platform, but with more flexibility and scalability; each instance comes with two bidirectional codec channels, but customers can expand it to a total of sixty-four channels in one-channel increments, making it easier to grow as their needs change. Beyond that, Zephyr Connect reinforces our commitment with virtualization alongside our traditional hardware products.”
