Cisco will present the first software-based mobile network at the 5G Virtual Forum

Rakuten deploys with Cisco a pioneering network with end-to-end automation and virtualization of cloud-native functions, becoming a 5G mobile provider with a level of disruption unique in the industry.

The North American multinational Cisco will take advantage of the 5GForum Virtual to present to the technological society its great 5G project with Rakuten in Japan, which he planned to present at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

“When we talk about 5G, sometimes we forget that the most important thing happens behind the antenna,” highlights the Cisco manager.

“The architecture used in Rakuten, in addition to allowing ultra-fast mega connectivity, will have extremely low latencies, thus creating a platform to accelerate the adoption of industrial IoT, telemedicine services, connected vehicles, artificial intelligence application and e-gaming,” he adds.

This vision, together with the architecture implemented by Cisco, allows operating a 5G network with extremely low costs, accelerating innovation and responding to market demands in a fast and competitive manner.

With more than 100 5G projects underway on a global scale, Cisco uniquely offers an approach to Cloud-to-Client for 5G networks. In Spain, they are working on important 5G projects in the fields of tele-care, agriculture and senior care.
