Steadicam Axis: First professional body gimbal with three-axis Volt integral stabilization
Tiffen has begun marketing Steadicam Axis, the first professional body stabilizer with three-axis Volt integral stabilization prepared to support medium-weight cameras.
This advancement is the only complete system that offers the Steadicam Volt technology for roll, tilt and roll to provide greater stability and control.
Based on the popular Steadicam technology, with its traditional sled, arm and vest, this innovative system features the electronic assisted stabilization Powered by Volt, which adds a step forward to body camera stabilization. A stage-mounted control box operates the Volt 3-axis electronically assisted gimbal which facilitates greater and more subtle control of the frame while still providing the operator with tactile and practical control of the sled.
Three knobs on the top adjust Roll, Tilt and, for the first time, Pan. Next to them is a fourth knob to adjust just the right amount of damping to perfect your movement.
With a capacity of load up to 9 kilosSteadicam Axis is designed to help the operator directly control the framing of the shot without feeling disconnected from the camera. Operators can achieve high-quality camera movement, with faster setup times, greater range of motion, and a shallower learning curve than previous electronic stabilization systems. Time-saving features also include absolute coding for the panning axis and eliminates the need to realign the sled upon start-up.
