Fujifilm debuts Kangaroo Lite, storage solution at IBC

Beyond showcasing the full line of Duvo hybrid lenses Fujinon, including the recently released 14-100mm model, Fujifilm has surprise launched Kangaroo Lite, defined as a compact long-term data archiving solution for capacities starting at 100 TB.

Taking advantage of its presence in IBC 2024, Fujifilm presents the Kangaroo Lite, a compact, turnkey data archiving solution that has been created for those organizations that require storage for capacities from 100 terabytes. This desktop solution, type plug and play, is an ergonomic and easy-to-handle device, and weighs approximately 40 kg.

Kangaroo Lite has been designed to store long term data on tape, offering high protection against cyber attacks, an archive life of more than 30 years and the possibility of making multiple copies. in words Peter Struik, executive vice president of Fujifilm Europe, "as companies demand secure and sustainable long-term data archiving, tape-based solutions must be part of the answer. We firmly believe that there can be no sustainable storage solution without tape."

Fujifilm's latest development can connect with multiple data sources and destinations. In addition, it includes management software Object Archive from Fujifilm, created specifically for long-term data preservation and protection. This software saves data in an open format, making it compatible with a large number of disk and tape systems, and ensuring that data is accessible and manageable, even as technology evolves.

Duvo, great protagonists of the Fujinon showcase at IBC 2024

In the field of lenses, visitors to IBC 2024 can discover the three members of the Duvo family: the models 25-1000, 24-300 and the recently released Duvo 14-100, which one covers the wide angle and stands out for its versatility: from photographing an entire stage at a music concert, or getting close to an athlete at a sports venue to capture an immersive scene.

The Fujinon Duvo 14-100 is a double format and is compatible with two types of large image sensors. While it covers from a 14mm wide angle to a 100mm medium telephoto lens in Super 35, it is the smallest and lightest of the Duvo series, with 266.9mm in length and 2.54kg in weight, making it a comfortable lens to carry in your hand. Furthermore, with the Built-in 1.5 expander, the lens becomes a 21-150mm that covers the 16:9 format on Large Format cameras.
