The postproduction company based in Dublin Studios has chosen a film projector Christie CP4420-XE for its new color finish suite in Westland Row (Dublin).

This Irish independent study of VFX offers high -end visual effects, color correction and mastering for advertising, broadcast, television, cinema and content. The installation was carried out by the partner of Christie Kaurus, who opted for a Christie CP4420-Xe con 2.0KW LB Xenon and High contrast premium zoom lens.

"In Gabha, we knew we needed a premium projector for work," he says Andrew Francis, Gabha's senior partner and colorist. "This was essential for us to compete on the world stage and allow our collaborators to experience their projects in the best environment. Kaurus team was highly recommended by several outstanding postproduction filmmakers. Everyone agreed that they would not suggest anyone else for a project of this quality."

The order of Kaurus was that the room and the projection system should be similar or better than a Hollywood suite. "Christie was chosen for this project because they have been designing and manufacturing the best of the DCI projection for cinema for many years," he says Peter Sutton, Kaurus technical and co -founder director. "The performance level of your product has been the basis of the masterization of hundreds of film and television projects. Christie offers images with clear details, precision in color, consistency and flexibility. This set is key to the confidence between the integrator and the client."

4K with 12g entrance

"This Christie projector of the 4 -compatible with DCI has raised the level in terms of 4K specifications with a 12G entry capacity. It adapts to the latest advances in postproduction infrastructures and to the most recent HDMI specifications for alternative content. The new series of lenses also offers outstanding optical performance," he adds.

Francis, who has been doing digital color correction during the last 12 years, adds: “We knew that this suite would not be simple, mainly because the selected site was not a new space. We could adapt this beautiful room in an open and unique space in this Georgian building in the heart of Dublin. The results are sensational!”

"Without the confidence in the integrator, the manufacturer and the product, a postproduction installation cannot achieve its objective. They provide a space with the appropriate tools and the skills that its customers - the filmmakers, advertising agencies and documentary stores - trust to finish their particular masterpiece," adds Sutton.

"One of the most rewarding aspects of what we do was exemplified with Gabha. They work on high profile projects, with a global reach, and they saw what they felt that Dublin, and Ireland as a whole, needed. Discuss every aspect of this suite with them - from the concept to a functional service - and see how they adopted our opinions and suggestions was a real pleasure."
