En el marco de Iberseries & Platino Industria, Georgina Terán, CEO de EFD Studios announces the construction of the most extensive virtual production set in Europe, marking a milestone in the audiovisual industry. This innovative space will have more than 2,000 m² of set equipped with LED technology and the latest generation computing and processing chain.
The set will be located in the Madrid town of Boadilla del Monte (Madrid), offering creators an advanced work environment to explore new dimensions of creativity and efficiency in production.
During the panel titled Virtual Production: Changing the Rules of the Game, Georgina Terán, Mauricio van Hasselt (VP On-Set Producer, Pixomondo), David Monguet (VP Producer, MO&MO Studio), Migue Amoedo (director de fotografía AEC), y Amaya Muruzábal (Showrunner y CEO de M Content), moderados por Ismael Issa (director de fotografía AEC), discutieron las ventajas y posibilidades que ofrece esta tecnología, así como su impacto en las producciones actuales.
The construction of this set reinforces EFD Studios' commitment to the modernization of the audiovisual sector in Europe. This cutting-edge space will not only attract large international productions, but will also allow resources to be optimized and environmental impact reduced, consolidating Spain as a benchmark in European film production.
Training and talent development
Additionally, EFD Studios has reaffirmed its commitment to training and developing local talent through two important initiatives. On the one hand, in collaboration with Animal de Luz Films and its director Inna Payán, Circa 24 seeks to promote cinematographic training in Mexico, providing new opportunities to emerging talents and strengthening the country's audiovisual industry. Circa 24 is a school specialized in professional training in film, television and performing arts, which is distinguished by its multidisciplinary approach. Its methodology combines theory with practice, preparing students to integrate into both the creative and technical fields of the audiovisual industry. The programs cover areas such as direction, scriptwriting, production, acting, as well as a wide range of technical specialties, offering complete and updated training that promotes a creative community focused on all areas of audiovisual.
In Spain, EFD Studios Academy will focus its efforts on technical training, offering programs designed for both young talents and active professionals. In this trade school, highly qualified professionals will be trained for the audiovisual industry, with a comprehensive focus on the technical and specialized areas that are currently most in demand. The audiovisual sector has traditionally depended on the union transmission of knowledge, which is insufficient in the face of the accelerated growth of the industry at a national and international level.
With the increase in demand for highly qualified professionals, driven by streaming platforms and tax incentives, EFD Studios is positioned as a Center of Excellence. Its approach combines practical training, rigor and specialization, responding to the opportunities offered by a constantly expanding industry. The training will focus on technical areas that have historically been neglected in the academic offer, with the aim of being a real springboard towards the professional world and adding value to the audiovisual industry. The mission of EFD Studios Academy is to unite training and industry in a single process, ensuring that trained professionals have the necessary skills to excel and meet the demand of the sector.
