World Teleport Association names Randall Barney deputy executive director
La World Teleport Association (WTA) names Randall Barney deputy CEO. In his new role, he will be primarily responsible for the association's fundraising, member and industry service programs, events and partnerships.
Randall joined the WTA in 2006 as a membership manager after holding administrative positions at other non-profit associations. Under his administration, the WTA launched a global teleport directory and map and the WTA Executive Dialogue Series. Promoted to membership director, he expanded the association's membership and took the lead role in growing the successful WTA Teleport Certification program, which has certified more than 60 teleports from around the world based on transparent and independently verified quality standards in facilities, technology and operating procedures.
“Randall has become a well-known figure in the teleport and satellite sector,” he says. Robert Bell, Executive Director of the WTA. "He represents the WTA and leads panel discussions at dozens of conferences and trade shows each year, and has established excellent relationships with teleport and satellite executives. This appointment recognizes the leadership role he has developed with our members and Board of Directors."
