Josep Vilar will direct the new Audiovisual Expansion area of ​​RTVE

Josep Vilar will be the director of Audiovisual Expansion of RTVE, a new direction dependent on the Presidency that will launch collaboration projects with public communication companies and design strategies with private operators for the dissemination and marketing of content.

Vilar, director of Informative Content at RTVE since April 2022, has a degree in Information Sciences from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and has a long career in the Corporation. He began his career in 1985 as a news editor and for twelve years he served as area manager, editor and presenter.

He was director of TVE News in Catalonia from 2004 to 2007, when he became director of TVE's Daily News until 2012. From January to July 2020 he was director of News Program Content. On that date he was appointed director of News at TVE, a position he held for almost a year, until being named director of Strategy and Planning at RTVE.

Vilar también ha desempeñado puestos de responsabilidad fuera de RTVE como director de Informativos de BTV (Barcelona Televisión) entre 1997 y 2004. También fue consejero de la Corporación Catalana de Medios Audiovisuales (2012-2018). Además, tiene una amplia experiencia como docente y ha sido profesor asociado de la Facultad de Ciencias de la Comunicación de la Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona.

Cambios en informativos

Por otro lado, la periodista Maribel Sánchez-Maroto Inarejos, actualidad directora de Magacines y Actualidad de la Corporación, asumirá la dirección de Contenidos Informativos de RTVE y Jon Ariztimuño dirigirá los Informativos de Televisión Española leaving the position of deputy director of Structures and Formats of RTVE Information Programs that he held until now.

The appointments, at the proposal of the president of the Corporation, Jose Pablo Lopez, have been previously transferred to the News Councils of TVE and RNE so that the pertinent consultation can be carried out, in compliance with the Information Statute of the Corporation.
