Arkona will show its new JXS16 app at NAB 2025, created to increase coding and decoding density
Aiming to provide smaller, smarter and simpler IP core infrastructure solutions for broadcast productions of all sizes, Arkona will bring its Blade//runner product suite to NAB 2025 with important updates including improvements to the award-winning EASY-IP solution, as well as the introduction of the new JXS16 App.
Presented in IBC 2024, the platform Easy-IP, Designed to provide an easy transition from SDI to IP environments, it continues to evolve with the addition of new hard panel control surfaces that provide users with direct control of routing and processing. These panels are available as an integrated offering with any EASY-IP solution.
On the other hand, the new application JXS16 for the platform Blade//runner AT300 expands the capabilities of the previous JPEG-XS application by doubling the number of codecs. JXS16 offers 16 channels of JPEG-XS encoding or decoding in various configurations, such as 16x encoding, 16x decoding, or 8x encoding + 8x decoding. Compatibility extends to UHD, 3G and HD for a maximum of 16 UHD per AT300. The application, defined by Arona itself as “the highest density JPEG-XS UHD codec solution on the market”, can scale up to 128 UHD channels in just 3RU.
Arkona will also show the latest updates for the arkona IP Audio Application (IPA), a dedicated audio mixer available on Blade//runner. The system now has native integration with MakeProX, Behringer and other control surfaces that use the HUI MIDI communications protocol. This enhancement allows for improved control of DSP and mixing functions to simplify workflows through an intuitive hardware interface.
Erling Hedkvist, head of sales and business development at Arkona, notes that the company's goal is to "simplify the transition from traditional SDI infrastructures to future-proof IP solutions. "These newly added solutions to our Easy-IP packages promise to make this transition seamless, cost-effective and future-proof, and we are very excited to show it at NAB this year," he concludes.
