France Télévisions receives the EBU Award for Technology and Innovation

France Televisions receives the award EBU to Technology and Innovation for the implementation of the proof of concept of the C2PA (Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity) standard. For his part, Yannick Olivier, from France Télévisions, is named Young Technological Talent of the Year for his work in the implementation of SMPTE ST 2110 for the Paris Olympic Games.

The 2025 winners were announced and honored at the EBU Technology and Innovation Summit, organized by the Irish network RTÉ in Dublin, on June 5 and 6. Both awards are awarded annually by the EBU Technical Committee, based on a score assigned individually and secretly by each of the members of the Committee. The 2025 candidate list included two dozen proposals.

The Technology and Innovation Award recognizes France Télévisions' efforts to rRespond to the growing need to verify the origin and authenticity of digital media. In an environment where manipulated or fake content can circulate quickly, the C2PA framework provides a technical foundation to ensure traceability and trust in media assets.

France Télévisions has played a leading role in the implementation of this emerging standard. In collaboration with the multimedia technology company The valley, has developed and tested an implementation that includes creating a custom C2PA-compatible player for a minimum viable product.

The EBU Technology and Innovation Award jury highlighted the relevance and opportunity of the project, underlining its potential to support content integrity and provenance verification across the sector.
