Bravo Pictures' UM integrates LaON's Genie intercom

Bravo Pictures, one of Korea's leading multimedia content producers, selects Genie intercom system from LaON, made up of Kyma Systems, for your new mobile unit.

Kyma Systems, LaON Technology partner and professional systems integrator specialized in studios and OB, has delivered a new OB UHD truck to Bravo Pictures. Kyma installed and implemented all systems for the mobile unit, including LaON's Genie intercom system. The client required a Matrixless IP based intercom system. And for future expansion, a scalable multichannel solution was key to selecting one of the IP solutions. Kyma has designed the entire intercom system for the truck with a Genie BS1000 base station, 5 GRP8 key panels, 1 GDP4 desktop station, 1 GLR line router, 2 RA100 remote antennas, 10 BP850 wireless bodypacks y 10 WR850 wireless receivers.

A simple and efficient solution

Sean Woo, CEO of Kyma Systems, comments that "Genie's wired and wireless intercom system was more than enough to design the new UHD mobile unit without the need for an expensive matrix system. Genie is a simple and efficient IP intercom solution that does not require many devices to configure. In addition, the wireless receiver can be connected to the base station and used in conjunction with the wireless beltpacks, which is a huge cost savings."

“Genie supports 128 wireless beltpack connections regardless of the number of antennas, so the customer will not need any additional antenna if they add more wireless packs in the future. The client was previously using a traditional matrix-based intercom system, so we had to train him on Genie as he was not familiar with this decentralized IP intercom system. The customer has worked with Genie on many television shows and praises its efficiency and outstanding scalability, as well as audio clarity. “Sean added that he will be designing upcoming OB and studio projects with Genie as it fits perfectly and works very well for it,” he concludes.
