EVS strengthens its robotics portfolio with the purchase of XD motion
Following the recent strategic purchase of Telemetrics, EVS announces at IBC 2025 the acquisition of the French company XD motion, thus offering the industry a complete portfolio of robotic solutions for media production, both indoors and outdoors, to capture the most impactful images and emotions in live video.
The transaction is expected to close on October 1, 2025, and will involve the creation of a new solution called T-Motion, which integrates Telemetrics and XD motion. By bringing together decades of innovation and experience from both companies in the United States and France, T-Motion will offer a complete and future-proof portfolio. Together with LiveCeption, MediaCeption and MediaInfra within the EVS ecosystem, T-Motion introduces a new category of intelligent, integrated tools designed to help customers consistently capture the most engaging live video images, whether in the studio or in the field. This strategic move significantly strengthens EVS' capabilities and reaffirms its commitment to delivering cutting-edge technology that improves live storytelling, operational reliability and efficiency.
EVS will continue to invest in R&D to seamlessly integrate T-Motion solutions with its existing platforms, including Cerebrum, the flexible control room concept and other solutions. This integration will allow customers to improve their productions with smarter automation, greater precision and greater creative freedom, all while optimizing costs.
The synergy is especially powerful when you combine premium hardware with EVS's strong AI experience and development capabilities. This merger will enable customers to consistently capture live video images that were previously out of reach, shifting the value of T-Motion solutions toward intelligent, software-based workflows.
Thanks to EVS' global presence, T-Motion will also benefit from expanded service capabilities, including the progressive rollout of 24/7 support where needed, ensuring our customers are supported with a world-class experience, anytime, anywhere.
14 years at the forefront
Founded in 2011, XD motion has carved out a unique position in the broadcast and film industries with its expertise in aerial filming and multi-dimensional tracking. From helicopters and airplanes to wired cameras, robotic arms and drones, the company has provided stunning live video images for some of the world's most prestigious events, such as the Olympic Games.
In recent years, XD motion has evolved beyond providing services and launched innovative products such as ArcamIO.BOT to bring its gyro-stabilized technology to a broader market. This transformation from a service-centric model to a product-driven approach reflects the company's commitment to scalable innovation. XD motion generates annual revenues of approximately 4 million euros. The transaction represents an enterprise value of more than €3 million, plus potential profit.
As part of EVS T-Motion, XD motion services will continue to support the major live events already covered by EVS. At the same time, T-Motion will increasingly empower live service providers to expand their own service offerings by integrating T-Motion's outdoor robotics technology. Several live service providers have already expressed strong interest in adopting these solutions to improve their event operations and diversify their service portfolios.
