LiveU debuts at IBC LU900Q, a “quantum leap” in live streaming and production intelligence
The specialist in IP video solutions, LiveU, highlights its state-of-the-art LU900Q field unit at its stand at IBC 2025, which represents a “quantum leap” in live streaming and production performance.
Among the novelties that LiveU is demonstrating at IBC 2025, the cutting-edge connectivity provided by LiveU IQ stands out; flexible cloud workflows for any type of production; story-focused intelligent automation to streamline content delivery; cost-effective IP distribution on any platform; and the compliance record for quality control, now enhanced with AI through the Actus X intelligent monitoring platform.
As for the new LU900Q unit, it is the first to natively integrate LiveU IQ (LIQ), powered by AI-based decision making, advanced eSIM technology and dynamic and fluid connection switching, all within an advanced 5G architecture.
LU900Q promises to transform the way broadcasters approach remote news and live sports productions, combining this innovative connectivity intelligence with a great operational flexibility. This solution has been designed from the ground up for the era beyond 5G. Combined with LIQ, it includes next-generation 5G modems with a MIMO antenna array, providing significantly improved speed, stability and performance.

The unit will be sold in an ergonomic backpack with a long-lasting battery, with a potential of more than seven hours of autonomy for double the resistance. It's also designed for any weather with a rugged, shock-absorbing frame and advanced cooling, meaning the LU900Q is always ready to go.
With unlimited production possibilities, LU900Q acts as a smart multifunctional tool which breathes new life into existing production equipment. Seamlessly integrates with SDI, HDMI and IP production equipment, from ENG cameras and PTZ systems to drones and more. This protocol-agnostic approach allows teams to use any combination of equipment in their workflow to fit the needs of the moment.
Another key advance is the introduction of Dual video return and dual intercom, which bring the advantages of the study to reporters in the field. The unit also offers single- and dual-camera production workflows, transforming rigid broadcast setups into dynamic, adaptable production environments, and includes key new features such as native analytics.
For high-end productions, it offers 10-bit 4:2:2 HDR encoding with up to 32 audio channels, providing the uncompromising performance and precise geolocation required for major sports broadcasts, mobile sports and critical backup applications.
For file-based workflows, the LU900Q accelerates file uploads directly to media asset management (MAM) systems, integrated with the LiveU Ingest story metadata logging and automatic recording solution. The drive also supports uploading entire folders or entire SD cards, as well as file by file.
All the advanced features offered by the LU900Q are easily activated through a dynamic software license which can be activated on demand or as a subscription, making it the most modular mobile encoder on the market. Customers can start with a basic hardware configuration and add software modules to tailor capabilities to their needs, providing unprecedented cost effectiveness and operational flexibility. This platform-like approach allows broadcasters to scale up or scale down their storytelling capabilities based on immediate needs, removing traditional barriers between different production workflows and budget constraints.
