32 finalists will compete for the Iris Games Awards 2025
The Academy of Television and Audiovisual Sciences and Arts has announced the 32 video games that will compete in eight categories of the Iris Games Awards 2025, which will be delivered on November 27 at FYCMA (Palacio de Ferias y Congresos de Málaga).
The nominated titles were announced in a live edition of the Katorijji podcast, hosted by Lara Smirnova and Pablo Meixe, which included the participation of guests from the audiovisual and video game sectors such as the presenter Luján Argüelles, Cristian Suárez (ONCE Foundation), Javier Camacho “Delunado”, and the content creators Jorge Yorya, Pablo Laran and Manu Partida, among others.
During the broadcast, broadcast live through the YouTube channel of the National Digital Content Pole (Málaga), the names of the 32 finalists who will compete in the different categories of this first edition of the Iris Games Awards have been revealed, which will distribute 42,000 euros in prizes.
The Television Academy and the Malaga City Council, through the National Digital Content Pole, and the Junta de Andalucía co-organize this contest, which aims to recognize the excellence, diversity and talent of national video game production. With the same spirit of the BAFTA Video Game Awards (British Academy Games Awards) presented by the British Academy, they aspire to become a strategic meeting point for a key sector in the audiovisual and cultural industry of Spain.
32 finalists
In the category Mobile compete After World: Zombie Survival, from Viva Games Studios (Seville); Blasphemous Mobile, de The Game Kitchen (Sevilla); Crimes: Open cases, from 3Cat (Barcelona); and Kings League Clash of Captains, from ConWiro (Álava).
The category PC/Consola counts as finalists with Army Moves Overdrive, from Dunwich Studio (Valencia); Mika and the Witch’s Mountain, from Chibig (Valencia); The Stone of Madness, from The Game Kitchen (Seville); and Toy Tactics, from Kraken Empire (Zaragoza).
In Accessibility, the nominees are Guayota, by Team Delusion (Madrid); The town, from EP Games (Madrid); Stick To The Plan, from Dead Pixel Tales (Madrid); and Tiny’s Tale, de Digital Monster Collective (Pontevedra).
The category Tech/XR gathers All On Board!, de The Game Kitchen (Sevilla); Make It Stable, de Odders Lab (Seville); OVRDARK: A Do Not Open story, from Nox Noctis (Valencia); and Undead Citadel, de Dark Curry SL (Barcelona).
As for the Narrative, the finalist projects are American Arcadia, de Out of the Blue Games (Madrid); The Rearview Mirror (Rearview Mirror), de Cubus Games (Barcelona); Last Time I Saw You, by Maboroshi Artworks (Madrid); and Stars in the Trash, of Valhalla Cats (Murcia).
The category Indie presents as nominees A-RED Walking Robot, by JOOKITOOZ (Barcelona); Second, de Gatera Studio (Barcelona); Ereban: Shadow Legacy, by Baby Robot Games (Barcelona); and Numbra, from Hamahiru – DigiPen Bilbao (Vizcaya).
In the category Andalusia, compete Gunfire Ops – War Shooter, from Digital Arts Games (Seville); Kemono Heroes, by MAD GEAR GAMES (Cádiz); Rider Traffic Racing, by Wayne Mobile (Málaga); and The Throne, from BeByte Tecnología (Málaga).
Finally, in the category International have been selected I See Red, de Whiteboard Games (Argentina); Preserve, by Bitmap Galaxy (Slovakia); Sopa: Tale of the Stolen Potato, by StudioBando (Colombia); and The Lullaby of Life, from 1 Simple Game (Mexico).
After the announcement of the finalists, the evaluation phase now begins. professional jury, made up of an outstanding group of representatives from the video game, audiovisual, communication, culture and innovation sectors. These are 29 profiles from international studios, specialized media, public institutions, publishers, sector associations and content creators, who will provide a plural and expert vision in the selection of the winners.
The winners will be announced at the awards gala, which will take place on November 27 in Malaga. The ceremony will be presented by Luján Argüelles and Jorge Yorya, and is conceived as a show that will highlight the union between the video game and audiovisual industries, with musical performances, networking spaces and demo areas open to the public.
Prior to the ceremony, on the morning of November 27, the National Digital Content Pole will host a professional days designed as a meeting space between investors, publishers and industry agents with video game studios and developers from all over Spain.
These sessions will include panels, presentations and networking activities aimed at promoting collaboration, investment and the international projection of national talent.
