Filmax produces 'El nido', a psychological thriller directed by Hugo Stuven

Produced by Carlos Fernandez y Laura Fernández Brites to Filmax, The nest tells the story of an overprotective mother who will do anything to keep her family safe. The rule to comply with is very simple: no one can leave the surroundings of the house, that shelter that she has built to protect them.

The film was shot for six weeks in various locations in Barcelona, ​​with a cast led by Michelle Jenner (The goldsmith's secret; nominated for the Goya for Best New Actress for Don't be afraid), Luisa Gavasa (nominated for the Goya for Best Supporting Actress for The teacher who promised the sea; winner of the Goya for Best Supporting Actress for The bride), Pablo Derqui (Of the) and the young debutant, Dylan Radley. Its director, Hugo Stuven, defines it as a “psychological thriller with a dense, vigilant, almost oppressive atmosphere, fueled by the secrets that everyone hides.” "And at the center of that emotional labyrinth is our protagonist (Michelle Jenner), whose precise and heartbreaking performance sustains the tension as if she were carrying the entire house on her shoulders. Fernández Brites explains the origin of the project that has the support of RTVE, Movistar Plus+ and ICCA: “Desde hace años en Filmax nos apetecía trabajar con Hugo Stuven como productores de un largometraje de ficción tras las fructíferas colaboraciones en series documentales y como distribuidores de obras previas. Juntos emprendimos el proyecto de The nest, un thriller de suspense encerrado, con un ritmo preciso y una historia minimalista que no necesita artificios. La atmósfera que construye Hugo hace que todo respire verdad dentro de un relato tan contenido como inquietante”.
