SMPTE - Chris Lapp Cisco - Troy English Ross Video

Chris Lapp (Cisco) y Troy English (Ross Video) join the board of directors of SMPTE as vice president of membership and vice president of finance, respectively, holding positions that will extend until 2027 and that will help continue defining the future of the broadcast field.

The new additions of SMPTE, whose positions extend from the past January 1 to December 31, 2027, will play key roles in a few years that Sally-Ann D’Amato, executive director of the organization, defines as “promising.” Specifically, the new members of the SMPTE board of directors are Chris Lapp, SMPTE membership vice president, and Troy English, vice president of finance at SMPTE. Besides, Raymond Yeung, a member of the SMPTE board of directors, will continue in his role as SMPTE vice president of standards for another two years.

In addition to the directors, the Society has elected six regional governors for a two-year term, from 2026 to 2027. Among them are Tony Meerakker (More Tech Systems), responsible for the Canada region; Sara Seidel (Riedel Communications), eastern US region; Dagmar Driesnack (Appear), EMEA region, Central and South America; Paul Whybrow (Varda Creative), Asia-Pacific region; Other Normal (FanDuel Sports Network), southern US region, and Catherine Meininger (Portrait Displays), western US region.
