Atomos launches the Ninja RAW monitor-recorder, 5-inch entry model
Ninja RAW, the latest development of atoms, is presented as an “affordable tool” that combines high-quality capture in ProRes RAW formats and precise monitoring from a five-inch HDR touch screen with 1500 nits of brightness.
Designed for professional workflows, but also for emerging content creators, Ninja RAW record via HDMI directly from camera sensor on Apple ProRes y ProRes RAW on CFexpress Type B media or external USB-C storage, providing fast, reliable capture with maximum image quality and flexibility in post-production. For Peter Barber, CEO of Atomos, the new monitor-recorder is presented as one of its “most affordable” devices, without giving up “professional tools in a compact and portable format” in the process.
Designed to be a monitor, recorder and production center, Ninja RAW offers camera control USB-C on key parameters, such as start/stop, ISO, shutter, aperture and white balance for compatible cameras. It features a comprehensive set of monitoring tools, including EL Zone false color, waveform, focus peaking, vectorscope and more, allowing crews to make confident exposure and focus decisions on set. The system is completed with exclusive creative tools such as overlay Onion Skin, which enables frame-by-frame comparison and precise shot alignment for visual effects, animation, and work where continuity is critical.
The solution supports a wide range of professional codecs, including ProRes RAW, ProRes RAW HQ, ProRes LT, ProRes 422 y ProRes 422 HQ, ensuring seamless integration with all major non-linear video editors such as DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere Pro, Apple Final Cut Pro y Avid Media Composer. Regarding its connectivity options, the system has two USB-C ports that can accommodate external storage systems or network adapters.
Despite its professional power, Ninja RAW continues to stand out for its portability. The solution can be powered by batteries NP-F, USB-C power banks or a DC adapter, which allows it to adapt to both on-set filming and outdoor productions.
