EITB makes the definitive leap into the digital environment with its new channels ETB1 ON and ETB2 ON

Wednesday, March 18 marks the beginning of ETB1 ON and ETB2 ON, channels designed for distribution on the Internet, YouTube, platforms and television service providers that come to carry generalist channels of EITB to the digital universe and replace ETB3 and ETB4.

The launch of these digital versions constitutes, in the words of Basque radio and television, the “expansion and natural evolution of ETB in the digital environment”, with the aim of guaranteeing its full presence wherever the content is consumed and adapting to the new consumer habits. The launch of both channels “completes” the digitization process of Basque public television, and constitutes a strategic commitment to reinforce Basque in the global digital space, spread Basque culture and connect with young audiences.

ETB1 ON and ETB2 ON will be differentiated from ETB1 and ETB2. Although they have points in common such as simultaneous broadcast of news and current affairs programs, will offer differentiated and complementary proposals, since ETB1 ON and ETB 2 ON will have their own content and without international rights restrictions. Specifically, both channels will broadcast content of social value and linked to the Basque territory and, in the case of ETB1 ON, a extensive children's programming in Basque, in addition to events and direct references for Basque society and culture.

The user will not have to make any changes, since where you previously saw ETB3 you will now see ETB1 ON, and where you previously saw ETB4 you will now see ETB2 ON. Furthermore, from now on, ETB1 ON programming will also be the reference for the five local districts of Navarra where ETB3 is offered.
