Annsofi Eriksson

The UER appoints Annsofi Eriksson as new chief technology officer (CTO), a position she will assume on October 1. Annsofi, succeeding Antonio Arcidiacono, brings more than two decades of international experience in IT leadership, digital transformation and technology strategy, and joins from Sveriges Radio.

Annsofi Eriksson brings more than twenty years of international leadership experience in the fields of information technology, digital transformation and technology strategy, in both private and public sector organizations. He joins the EBU from Swedish Radio, where she serves as CIO and CTO, and is a member of the executive management team.

In his new role, Annsofi will lead a newly created department that will bring together the EBU's work on technology, artificial intelligence and digital platforms. The department will unify expertise currently spread across multiple teams, strengthening collaboration with industry members and partners, including leading technology companies, and ensuring a more coordinated and strategic response to the evolving needs of public service media.

Noel Curran, Director General of the EBU, highlights that "Annsofi brings a powerful combination of strategic vision, operational experience and a deep understanding of the role that technology plays in modern organizations. As we strengthen our work on AI, platforms and collaborations, his leadership will be essential to ensure that we offer maximum value to our members and speak with a single, strong and collective voice."

At Sveriges Radio, Annsofi has been responsible for the entire IT and technology environment, including strategy, development, operations, cybersecurity and supplier management. Previous positions include CIO at Sergel Group and IT Director at Länsförsäkringar Fondliv, as well as senior management positions at Telia Company, Tieto, Aditro AB and Alfa Laval. Throughout these positions, he has accumulated extensive experience in leading large international teams, driving digitalization and executing complex technological transformations.
Annsofi also maintains strong ties to the EBU community, as she currently holds the position of Vice President of the EBU Technical Committee and is a member of the board of directors of the Security4Media association.

Annsofi Eriksson acknowledges that "I am honored to take on this role at the EBU at such an important time for public service media. Technology and AI are transforming our sector, and I look forward to working closely with members and partners to seize these opportunities, strengthen collaboration and ensure that public service media continues to thrive in a rapidly evolving landscape."
