The new NEP Platform debuts interoperability with Panasonic Kairos
The software coordination system NEP Platform will present at NAB 2026 (April 19 – 22, Las Vegas) all the possibilities of its integration with the Kairos IT/IP live production platform Panasonic.
Through your alliance, NEP Platform y Kairos, both platforms can share a “unified data and control plane” that allows operators to dynamically allocate production resources, trigger multiviewer and production switching events, and synchronize metadata from a single interface. Operators can manage production switching Kairos, routing NEP and the coordination of resources through a single interface, which eliminates the need to constantly switch contexts. Furthermore, an integration prevalidated “significantly reduces” system startup time.
This philosophy, explains Steve Milley, vice president of professional video and audio systems at Panasonic AV North America, allows the broadcast industry to optimize its migration to IP-based production architectures and "Operators are facing increasing pressure to reduce infrastructure footprint, increase workflow agility, and support hybrid cloud and on-premises models without compromising the frame-accurate reliability that live production requires. Our collaboration with NEP marks an important step forward for Kairos' open platform vision, offering customers a clear and validated path to IP."
Dan Murphy, vice president of NEP Platform, says that interoperability between both systems brings together “best-in-class technologies in a unified, software-based ecosystem.” “The integration of NEP Platform with Kairos demonstrates how open, standards-based innovation can simplify complex workflows and deliver the performance and reliability that live production demands,” he emphasizes.
