Jesús Franco dies, the great "cursed" filmmaker of Spanish cinema
With more than 200 films in his career, Franco marked style in series B films.
The filmmaker Jesús Franco died on Tuesday in Malaga as a result of an ICTUS at 82 years of age.
Considered as a “cursed” filmmaker, Franco left his mark on numerous horror and series films B, counting more than two hundred titles. Many of these productions, low budget, signed them under pseudonyms such as John O'Hara, Clifford Brown, Pablo Villa or Jess Franco.
In 2009, the Film Academy handed him his Goya of Honor. Franco in addition to director has been a composer, writer and even actor.
Among his films stands out the feature film Necronomicon (1968), Dr. Mabuse's revenge (1971) and its two films about Fu-Manchú: Fu-Manchú and the kiss of death (1968) y Fu-Manchú Castle (1969).
Just a few days ago his last film was released: Al Pereira vs. the Aligator Ladies, a production with its unique seal.
