Sony and Visual Media Spain integrate digital cinema in the multi-camera production of the Dellafuente concert

Visual Media Spain implements an innovative cinematographic camera configuration Sony FX9 and Burano for the coverage of the singer Dellafuente's live concert, with a total of 16 camera positions with full integration into a broadcast workflow.

The concert, held at the Metropolitan Stadium in Madrid, achieves that cinematic aesthetics currently so sought after in a broadcast environment thanks to the camera integration of Sony's Cinema Line family, and is positioned as a reference in the audiovisual industry.

The collaboration between Visual Media Spain and Sony has been forged over many years and has allowed the company to have first-hand access to the latest innovations and optimize technological integration in its most ambitious projects.

An example of this cooperation was the technical challenge of adapting film cameras to function as part of a conventional broadcast chain, with extensive runs of SMPTE fiber y live color control through the Sony RCP-3500 panels. This control, common in television environments, was applied for the first time to Cinema Line cameras in a large-scale live production.

The system designed by the technical team of Visual Media Spain allowed to operate Burano and FX9 cameras, as if they were conventional broadcast chains, maintaining the creative flexibility of digital cinema along with the operability and centralized control typical of television production.

Alfonso Sainz, technical manager of Visual Media Spain, states that "having Sony's support in a project of this magnitude allows us to ensure technological reliability and manage it in an integrated manner within Visual Media's operations, guaranteeing the correct functioning of each element in a highly demanding live environment."

The best of cinema and television

The solution allowed director of photography Lucas Casanovas and operators to maintain the cinematographic aesthetic without giving up the operational agility of the broadcast. Months of previous rehearsals guaranteed impeccable execution and the satisfaction of exceeding technical and artistic expectations.
