Round table on Dolby Atmos at the Film Academy

The Film Academy renews its projection room in order to improve the cinematographic experience by equipping it with technology Dolby Atmos.

This new improvement at the institution's headquarters was presented last Friday with a demonstration, through the projection of fragments of films such as The Snow Society, Model 77 o Dragon Guardian. Next, there was a round table in which experiences were shared about how surround sound in theaters has become a claim to retain viewers.

The president of the Academy, Fernando Méndez-Leite, was in charge of welcoming the attendees; and then they spoke Juan Ferro y Cristian Amores, members of the sound specialty on the Board of Directors of the Academy, together with Ricardo Vinas, Senior Dolby consultant, who explained the benefits and importance of these improvements in the room at 3 Zurbano Street in Madrid.

Finally, they participated in the round table Vanessa Garde, film and television composer; Mikel Fernandez Krutzaga, sound engineer, mixer and composer; Gabriel Gutierrez, sound designer and mixer; Esther Gomez, CEO of Best Digital; Juan Ferro, sound designer and mixer; and Ricardo Viñas. Through their testimonies, the challenges faced by the sector in Spain when it comes to innovating through technologies such as Dolby Atmos were analyzed.
