Flare: full integration with Flame and Inferno
At NAB'09, Autodesk shows new versions of its visual effects systems for film and television and launches Flare, a novelty in its range of products now fully integrated with RED flows.
It should be noted that Autodesk visual effects systems have been used to create a large number of high-grossing films, including the three nominated this year for the Oscar for Best Visual Effects: The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, The Dark Knight and Iron Man. Autodesk solutions have also been used in the creation of programs and miniseries that have won Emmy awards, such as Mad Men, John Adams, House and Entourage, as well as in numerous television spots. (Budweiser, Career Builders, Bridgestone…).
Flame and Inferno 2010
Autodesk Flame and Inferno, visual effects systems for high-speed 2D and 3D compositing, advanced graphics, and interactive, client-driven design, equip digital artists with reliable, flexible, and interactive toolsets to tackle complex high-resolution projects. Aimed at expanding 3D technology in Flame and Inferno, new features and improvements now incorporate more creative tools, such as GPU-accelerated Blur 3D, Path 3D, Normal and UV mapping tools, as well as advancements in 3D text and scroll mapping tools. Likewise, format support is expanded, through the WiretapCentral application, for REDCODE RAW files, multichannel OpenEXR import and DNxHD with Apple QuickTime. When searching for files, both solutions incorporate a new engine and configurable import settings to control metadata mapping. There is also expanded floating point processing capabilities and a new Modular Keyer design with customizable presets.
Flare, the ideal companion for Flame and Inferno
Autodesk Flare 2010 is an integral part of Autodesk's solution to bridge the gap between 2D and 3D. Building on the heart of Flame and Inferno's creative toolset, Flare is designed to help empower creativity, expand capacity and develop talent for Flame and Inferno customers. Flare is geared toward advanced creative tasks such as compositing, rich graphics, and interactive design, as well as support tasks such as rotoscoping, retouching and dusting, project definition, and masking. Flare is available with Autodesk subscription and with floating licenses for more flexibility. The main advantages of this solution are that it is an application based on the Batch procedural compositing environment and the Action 3D compositing environment with advanced 3D tools. Autodesk's goal with Flare is for its integration into the Flame and Inferno workflow to be complete.
