The General Society of Authors (SGAE) for its Argüelles Art and Technology Center (CATA) in Madrid, has opted for a storage solution from DataDirect Networks (DDN) in a centralized configuration that allows access to material in both SD, HD, 2K and 4K, achieving up to four concurrent streams at maximum resolution. The chosen solution is composed of an S2A9900 system within a SAN shared storage network with 120 TB of capacity, and 60TB of near-line for redundant storage and archiving. The ingestion of the material and its management is carried out using the DVS Clipster Digital and SpycerBox solutions. This solution is integrated with several editing rooms with Avid and Final Cut Pro systems, an Arriscan 2K-4K scanner, the HS-ART Diamant restoration system, and various Autodesk Maya, 3D Studio Max rooms. The encoding of the material is carried out using Digital Rapids solutions, using a Somny 4K RSX-105 for in-room projection, as well as several 2K and traditional 35 mm projectors. As a video camera, CATA has chosen Cinevator, capable of filming 24fps including subtitles and audio.
