Aragón TV entrusts its continuity to VSN solutions
The VSNMulticom, VSNExplorer MAM and VSNExplorer BPM solutions have been chosen by Aragón Tv for the implementation of a continuity system that automates the broadcast of its three television signals.
The regional public television of Aragon has trusted in the technology of VSN for the supply, installation, configuration and start-up of a new redundancy continuity system for its three television signals: Aragón TV, Aragón TV HD and Aragón TV INT. The objective of the awarded contract is to renew the television systems, as well as to incorporate new functionalities to automate workflows, manage content and integrate the rest of the channel's existing systems.
To achieve a continuity broadcast and playout system with backup equipment, VSN has opted to implement two VSNMulticom solutions in redundancy: one specific for broadcast and another dedicated exclusively to channel recordings. In this way, it has been possible to implement a complete continuity system that provides the maximum guarantee of service and reliability and that, thanks to its parallel redundancy configuration, allows each line to operate independently to broadcast uninterruptedly.
Both systems have also been integrated with the VSNExplorer Media Asset Management (MAM) modules for content management and VSNExplorer Business Process Management (BPM) to unify and control under the same platform all the media workflows that are managed in both continuity lines and in the Aragón TV archives. Specifically, the implemented solution has managed to automate processes such as the ingestion of the media from traffic with associated metadata, the transcoding processes, the validation flows and the archiving or recovery of the content once it has been broadcast.
Integration with third parties
Finally, it should be noted that both VSNExplorer MAM and BPM solutions have also been integrated with all third-party systems already existing in the channel to centralize and automate all Aragón TV workflows, media and metadata. Mainly, the integrations developed for the file systems of DAC y Tedial, the MAPA-GREC traffic system, the Anglatecnic subtitling system, a branding system and automatic logo insertion from Grass Valley and Vertigo, Aurora Quality Control or video servers Harmonic.
The final result of this project allows Aragón TV to have a completely automated continuity flow from the export of files and video clips to their sending to the broadcast servers. Likewise, this project will allow the corporation to have a scalable solution in the future, which grows in the number of emission lists and equipment to control according to its needs.
Since its first official broadcast on April 21, 2006 within the framework of the Aragonese Radio and Television Corporation, Aragón TV has opted to offer plural information and quality entertainment about the different realities of this geographical territory with a vocation for public service. Currently, the autonomous entity has become one of the most consolidated options for regional public television in the country and stands out as the most influential channel among the population of this region.
The new continuity system, which is currently in the testing phase, is expected to go on air next January.
