Omneon MediaGridTelestream's Pipeline capture benefits are fully integrated into Omneon's MediaGrid server platform.

Omneon today announced that its MediaGrid storage system will now integrate Telestream's Pipeline capture service, enabling faster access to material in studio, news or sports applications. Pipeline thus integrates with Omneon's storage platform to increase issuance efficiency and production workflows. Pipeline facilitates rapid and direct ingestion of content into the MediaGrid, which in turn enables immediate editing of material in both SD and HD with Final Cut Pro. As a result, editors can work on content as it is ingested into the Omneon MediaGrid system. Thanks to a powerful API and interoperability with Pipeline, ingesting material into the MediaGrid Omneon system is seamless, without the need for manual intervention or updating by the publisher.

Geoff Stedman, Senior Vice President at Omneon commented: "In today's news or sports broadcasting, with fast workflows, as well as in studio production, a rapid turnaround depends on how quickly editors can access the media and get to work. The Omneon MediaGrid platform easily integrates into the workflow maximizing workflow efficiency in this key area."

Thanks to Telestream's Pipeline it is possible to capture video in SD and HD in formats such as DVCPRO HD, ProRes 4:2:2, and DNxHD, ingesting them directly into the Omneon MediaGrid platform for immediate editing. When dealing with material from multiple sources simultaneously, Final Cut Pro's multi-clip feature streamlines the production workflow by allowing editors to view and choose between these video sources always on the same timeline. MediaGrid for Mac's direct file access system allows uninterrupted access to stored clips, always ensuring smooth playback despite the system's simultaneous encoding channels.
