Tektronix WFM8200 and WFM8300, new waveform monitors

They provide real-time information and diagnosis of HD/SD-SDI and 3Gb/s SDI signals (with 3G option).

Tektronix has just launched two new waveform monitors under the models WFM8200 and WFM8300. These devices offer reliable and fast real-time information on HD/SD and 3 Gb/s SDI signals (with 3G option), helping the operator establish a diagnosis of possible problems. Both models have a screen to check LQV (Luma Qualified Vector) showing the user the possibilities of selectively choosing a large luminance amplitude over which to isolate the color components in the vector. This allows operators to identify color components in terms of shadows, midtones and highlighting them on multiple LQV displays.

The patented Spearhead display provides a new tool for color adjustment, allowing operators to view the video signal in terms of lightness, value and saturation. This 2D and 3D representation of the color space offers operators a simple method to check the degree of agreement between scenes, thus being able to present a uniform image quality throughout the production process.
