Leader's LV5600 waveform monitor helps Mediaset operate in UHD over IP

Mediaset Italy you have chosen waveform monitors Leader ZEN Series LV5600 for integration into two fully interconnected mobile units with IP and also for some control and studio applications.

The eleven units of LV5600 of Leader, a waveform monitor SDI/IP mains-powered in a 3U half-rack desktop chassis with a front touch screen, have been supplied by Leader's Italian distribution partner, Communication Video Engineering (CVE). Tal y como comenta Mauro Cassanmagnago, director del departamento de tecnologías de producción y difusión de Mediaset, esto permitirá “poner a disposición de todo el personal pertinente señales de banda base sin comprimir hasta la UHD, sin tener que encaminar por separado las señales de audio, vídeo, datos e intercomunicación”.

Waveform Monitors Leader LV5600 They allow a very wide range of signal measurements to be carried out quickly and accurately. Their small size and easy front panel control mean they can be adapted for both stand-alone and integrated use. Luca Catalano, CEO of CVE, provides more details of the solutions of Leader: “The ability to handle IP and SDI in a single test environment is especially useful for today's largely hybrid world of media production, and is augmented by the ability to configure the LV5600's display screen to facilitate comparison of multiple signal sources or multiple test parameters.”

The instruments requested by Mediaset cover three configurations: the 10 gigabit/s IP interface LV5600-SER05, the HDR software license LV5600-SER23 and 4K/UHD software license LV5600-SER28. This versatility allows customers to specify what hardware and firmware features they need when they initially purchase waveform monitors, while retaining the ability to add new features or accommodate new file formats and transmission protocols.
