Leader LV5490: a waveform multi-monitor for signals from SD to 4K

This equipment's support for 4K signals will be especially useful for those working with next-generation cameras, whether for digital cinematography or high-end broadcast applications.

Leader LV5490

Leader has incorporated the new LV5490 waveform multi-monitor for signals from SD to 4K to its portfolio of test and media solutions.

George Gonos, president of Leader, highlights that "this highly versatile waveform monitor supports all production and broadcast standards with resolutions of 525 and 625 in standard definition up to 3840 × 2160 and 4096 × 2160 4K. It incorporates a 9-inch high-definition LCD monitor with 1920 × 1080 resolution and a wide viewing angle and high-quality colorimetry. This allows analysis “simultaneous up to four video channels.”

This equipment's support for 4K signals will be especially useful for those working with next-generation cameras, whether for digital cinematography or high-end broadcast applications.

The LV5490 accommodates up to eight input channels. Four of them accept 3G-SDI/HD-SDI/SD-SDI. The other four channels can be configured by the user as resynchronized SDI inputs or outputs. Work with 3G-SDI dual-link and quad-link are supported on this device.

In terms of connectivity, the rear panel includes SDI and DVI outputs, Ethernet, RS-422 serial control, eight digital audio inputs/outputs, eight SDI inputs/outputs, external reference and loopthrough at 75 ohm, and power supply from 90 to 250 volts 50/60 hertz. The LV5490 allows two HD-SDI dual link signals to be displayed at the same time. In SDI mode, up to four signals can be displayed simultaneously. The equipment allows a wide range of test and measurement functions to be used. including waveform, vectorscope and image control, data analysis in SDI signals, cyclic redundancy error-check, error in embedded audio, event recording... Like other Leader equipment, it has Cinelite technology, which allows easy evaluation of relative exposure and general luminosity.

With 4RU height and a weight of 4.8 kilos, the LV5490 is easily transportable and rackable.
