SES chooses Telestream SDI/IP waveform and QC monitor in its new remotely operated broadcast center
Telestream's solution facilitates quality checking and aids diagnostics in a state-of-the-art, remotely operated broadcast center.
The satellite operator SES has selected Telestream to provide technology systems timing, waveform monitoring y quality control (QC) to a new remote broadcast center in Stockley Park (Gran London).
As part of the services it offers, Telestream is providing its timing generators SPG8000A for system timing applications throughout the new broadcast center. Furthermore, his Prism SDI/IP waveform monitor It is being used for all video monitoring and quality control applications in all center distribution workflows.
The new SES broadcast center provides broadcast infrastructure for linear television channels and is capable of supporting HD formats and HDR services. Even though the data center is based in London, network management is operated by SES teams in Munich. Telestream products play a critical role in enabling a remotely managed solution and ensuring a seamless workflow.
To manage and maintain accurate system synchronization, SES chose SPG8000A timing generators with a unit ECO8000. The new firmware enables full remote operation via a web user interface, which is critical for remote operation, including clock source changes between primary and backup.
This product combination allows SES teams in Munich to change network timing sources or GPS receivers remotely without the need to be on-site in London to perform critical management and support tasks.
Additionally, SES selected Prism waveform monitors as its primary tool for monitoring SDI signal quality and deep video analysis.
