La rusa MIR Tv adopta Dalet Enterprise Edition
The Russian broadcaster adopts a tapeless work structure based on Dalet's MAM in its news programs.
Dalet Digital Media Systems has announced that Mir TV has selected Dalet Enterprise Edition for its news services. Dalet will offer MIR Tv a full set of integrated news production capabilities, including a comprehensive newsroom system, video production tools, a MAM framework and an editorial workflow engine. This workflow is fully compatible with a wide range of third-party hardware such as AutoScript (teleprompter), DDN (production, storage), Quantum StorNext (file management system), and FrontPorch (archive), as well as other graphics systems and video servers.
Radik Batyrshin, President of Mir TV commented: "We wanted to build a next-generation newsroom and Dalet was the only solution that offered full functionality without having to commit to proprietary hardware with an open system that allowed us to choose the broadcast components that best fit our operational needs and budget. In addition, Batyshin notes that "the system offers the most complete set of newsroom production capabilities allowing us to optimize our productions and produce much higher quality content for our news programs. For us, this is a first and important step in the modernization of our entire infrastructure that will allow us to save production costs and maintain our competitive advantage.”
This installation will be carried out in two phases. In the first, the Dalet system will be deployed in both ingestion and editing, integrating it with an HSM system to store media files. Likewise, all existing files on MIR Tv will be digitized and stored in the new system. In a second phase, a complete set of production tools will be installed and continuity will be put in place to control the broadcast of the Omneon video servers.
The Dalet Workflow includes 40 workstations with the Dalet advanced desktop production suite and other creative tools. An additional 20 Dalet Webspace clients will provide journalists with the ability to produce remotely using a standard Internet connection. t
