El Clúster Audiovisual Galego viajará a Cannes por segundo año consecutivo para participar con una delegación de dieciséis empresas en el MIPCOM’09 que tendrá lugar en el Palais de La Croisette del 5 al 9 de octubre.
A 39 square meter stand, shared with Basque Audiovisual, will be the platform to give visibility to the Galician audiovisual industry in what is considered to be one of the most renowned content fairs in the world. Abano Produciones, Continental, R, Adivina Producciones, Isabella Audiovisual, Interaction, Setemedia, Milou Films, Filmanova, Filmax, Enxebre Entertainment, Perro Verde Films, Voz Audiovisual, Xamalú Filmes, Ficción Producciones and Dygra Films will be there.
This year's edition has a special meaning because MIPCOM celebrates its 25th anniversary. For this reason, the organization has planned an extensive program of events and conferences, in which profiles such as the creator of the Simpsons or the president of Hasbro stand out.
Within the framework of MIPCOM, a series of events will be held to celebrate the global success of The Simpsons over two decades. Matt Groening, series creator and executive producer, and Al Jean, executive producer, will be in Cannes, where Groening will receive the Creative Icon Award during a gala dinner on Wednesday, October 7, where Al Jean will be the master of ceremonies. The two will reflect on the success of the series, its longevity and its migration through different distribution platforms, at the press conference that will be held the day before, October 6.
That same day, Brian Goldner, president of the toy and game giant Hasbro, Inc., will give a conference to explain Hasbro's journey to becoming an entertainment leader, reaching a business volume of 4 billion dollars in products for entertainment and leisure time for family and children, with also notable links to films, television and video game sectors.
