'Suckers', the first Spanish animated series to be broadcast by Disney Channel USA

Screen 21 is presenting the series, which will be distributed worldwide by BRB Internacional and Disney XD/Jetix, at Cartoon Forum 2009. This project has been carried out by the Catalan studio in co-production with Genoma Animation and Televisió de Catalunya (TVC).

The Catalan company based in Barcelona Screen 21 is presenting the new series Suckers in the edition of the Cartoon Forum, which takes place in Norway until the 25th. Suckers offers a nice vision of modern life from the hand of its original protagonists: designer dolls –Art Toys-, who live inside cars. This is a project that is positioned at the forefront of world animation that is being carried out entirely in Spain, in co-production with Genoma Animation and Televisió de Catalunya (TVC).

Aimed at a target between 8 and 10 years old, the series Suckers is intended for a global audience: in fact, it is the first Spanish animated series that has been bought by the main Disney channel in the US. Likewise, its licensing potential goes beyond the limits of the small screen, and Jetix Consumers Products has already confirmed that it will be in charge of managing its license rights in EMEA territory. BRB Internacional will be in charge of managing these rights in the rest of the world, including the Iberian Peninsula, and distributing the series worldwide.

The premiere of the series worldwide will take place in this last quarter of the year on the Disney XD and Jetix channels. Modern, universal and innovative. Directed by Juanma Sánchez and Jose Luis Ucha, Suckers (104×2’) makes up a different comedy: direct, a little irreverent and always shocking. Made in high definition 3D and without dialogue, it is a selection of fun bites into reality by the Suckers, a group of peculiar toys that live in the back of cars. Their interests, their dreams, ambitions, challenges... and also the things that concern them will be drawn by the hand of Travis - a curious and playful stuffed animal, who goes at his own pace - and other characters like Constantine - a little dog who lives with Travis, accompanying him and making a face like "I told you it wouldn't work" -.

International projection

Suckers represents more than a hundred short two-minute sequences narrated in the hip-hop style, which weave together various stories of modern life in an original final x-ray. The series is full of gags and winks easily recognizable by viewers anywhere in the world. This series co-produced by Televisio de Catalunya (TVC) is aimed not only at
