Omnibus iTX automatic HD en LiTv
OmniBus Systems, based on its iTX platform, and Ascent Media Singapore launch the first Li TV high definition broadcast for Asia and the Pacific.
Ascent Media Singapore and OmniBus Systems have carried out the integration of the OmniBus iTX playout platform for Li TV at its headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This channel aims to become a benchmark in the Asia and Pacific area with lifestyle content. After studying several proposals, the integrator Ascent Media opted for iTX for this high definition automation due to its modular architecture and scalability.
Aaron Shaw, vice president of technology and engineer at Ascent Media Singapore, commented that "the modularity of the iTX infrastructure allowed us to offer a basic service in HD, being able to quickly scale it up if necessary. When the iTX runs on standard HP hardware the different software modules give us all the functions we need such as animated logos, subtitles and Dolby sound, allowing us to have launched the channel in record time." Another advantage of the iTX system is that it responds not only to broadcasting via satellite but also allows it to simultaneously output other platforms such as IPTV or mobile TV, using the same content but differentiating the branding or the insertion of advertising.
Omnibus' iTX automation platform is currently being used by broadcasters such as DirecTv, Turner, CNN, ABC or BBC, with a total of more than a thousand installations in which it is located.
