'La Dama y la Muerte', ganador del VII Concurso Internacional de Animación Digital

The short, produced by Kandor Animation, has been awarded in the International Digital Animation Contest that was held in Murcia coinciding with SICARM 2010, where the special Region of Murcia award was also chosen, which went to Javier Martínez.

The Lady and Death, which narrates the struggle to live of its characters, is one of the most awarded animated shorts in the history of Spanish cinema. It won the 2010 Goya for Best Animated Short Film and was nominated in the same category at this year's Oscars. Directed by Javier Recio, it is a co-production by the Granada studio Kandor Graphics and Green Moon, Antonio Banderas' production company. Previously, both companies had already collaborated in the production of El lince perdido, winner of the Goya for Best Animated Film in 2009.

The second award-winning work was for the short The Tower of Time, directed by José Luis Quiros and produced by the company Quiros Animation. The incredible story of my Great Grandmother Olive, directed and produced by Alberto Rodríguez, won third prize.

Special mention deserved Clueless. The Strange Case, by Javier Martínez, which was awarded the Murcia Region Special Prize, which was presented as a novelty in this edition of the contest, in order to promote the production of digital animation in the region.

Los galardones se entregaron en el transcurso de la cena de gala del décimo aniversario del Foro Anual de la Sociedad de la Información. La Fundación Integra ha convocado el VII Concurso Internacional de Animación Digital en 3D con el fin de promover el uso de las Nuevas Tecnologías aplicadas a la creación de contenidos digitales y descubrir nuevos talentos de la animación. Las principales novedades de esta edición han sido la reducción del tiempo máximo de la animación –de 60 a 30 minutos– y la inclusión del ya mencionado Premio Especial Región de Murcia.
