Filmarket Hub launches a new international series driver contest
This initiative was born with the objective of discovering emerging voices in the writing of series and the next best pilot episodes, to connect them with prominent television executives.
The platform Filmmarket Hub has launched a new international script competition focused on serial pilots in english. An initiative that was born with the objective of discovering emerging voices in the writing of series and the next best pilot episodes, to connect them with prominent television executives.
The call for the contest will be open until March 31, while the 6 semi-finalists, the 3 finalists and the winning driver will be announced throughout June. He expert jury is formed by Tara Cook (development producer en Carnival Films), Karol Griffiths (development consultant y script editor) y Sarah Williams (literary agent en Independent Talent Group).
The winning script will be awarded 1,000 euros and will be automatically selected to participate in the next Filmarket Hub TV Pitchbox in the United Kingdom. This is a pitching event where seven series in development have the opportunity to be presented to television executives from top-level British companies such as Caryn Mandabach Productions, Entertainment One, Ingenious, Lionsgate, NBCUniversal, Sky, Sunny March TV, Working Title Television or World Productions.
The first edition took place in 2018 and included a case study on Peaky Blinders by its executive producer Jamie Glazebrook. The second edition was held in September 2019 and included an initial talk by the prestigious screenwriter Peter Harness, who shared his experience writing series like Doctor Who o McMafia.
On the other hand, the contest has Gaumont Television, Neal Street Productions and Red Arrow Studios as partners. Executives from these companies will read the three finalist scripts and share impressions with the scriptwriters.
At the same time, all semi-finalists will enjoy exclusive advantages on the Filmarket Hub online marketplace and will receive a free online course from the Erich Pommer Institute and the Movie Magic Screenwriter software.
