The fourth edition of the Summa 3D international competition begins
Summa3D aims to support the development of new projects, talents and promote 3D animated cinema.
The International Animated Short Competition, Summa3D, has officially opened the call for its fourth edition aimed at professionals, students and lovers of animated cinema and special effects. Summa3D aims to support the development of new projects, talents and promote 3D animated cinema.
Under the motto If you can dream it, you can do it, the awards are divided into five categories: “Short film project”, “Short film completed in 2016”, “Character design”, “Best 3D architectural infographic” and “Audience award for best 3D animated short film”. The jury of the contest will once again be made up of a group of national and international professionals of recognized prestige in the 3D animation sector and by the people selected by the sponsoring companies.
Throughout 2017 the organization plans to hold various events related to 3D animation. Specifically, a round table on architecture is planned to be held in April and another one in June on animation in general. On September 22, the viewing day of the selected short films and the exhibition of the finalist works of “character design” and “short film project” will be held. The awards ceremony will take place on September 23 in Madrid.
Summa3D was born in 2014 with the aim of encouraging, supporting and rewarding new talents by promoting projects within the animation and architectural infographics market.

short project
Aimed at those producers, directors and scriptwriters who are immersed in the creation of an animated short film, which has not yet been completed but has such a development that it can be evaluated as a project in both the artistic, organizational and economic fields.
Short film completed in 2016
For those producers, directors and scriptwriters who have completed an animated short film throughout 2016, which will be evaluated both in the artistic, organizational and economic fields.
Character Design
SUMMA3D contest category aimed at those artists who feel capable of designing a 2D and 3D animated character that could be the protagonist of future adventures.
Best 3D architecture infographic
Summa3D competition category aimed at those students and professionals of the generation of 3D infographics (visualization projects) of an architectural nature, which will be evaluated in both the artistic and technical fields.
Audience Award for Best 3D Animated Short Film
SUMMA3D contest category aimed at those participants in the “Character Design” category whose work will be evaluated by the public attending the screening of all the short films selected through the Summa3D APP.
